Designing Health Tech Solutions for Financial Care
OVERVIEW —
The client was looking to solve a problem for people trying to manage their elderly dependent’s financials. They invisioned the user’s relative as someone suffering from alzheimer’s or dementia, who was no longer able to oversee their own finances.
CHALLENGE —
Our goal was to create one place for individuals to manage the dependent’s finances in one place. The user could create a profile for themselves and their dependent, add other family members to assist in overseeing the finances, and receive alerts for any strange transactions from the dependent’s accounts.
PHASE ONE: IDEATE
Personas
We conducted user research, via stakeholder and user interviews, to aid in generating personas for the two main users.
Identifying Features
With the client and my firm’s CEO, we created a list of features that allowed us to identify what should be included in Canopy.
PHASE TWO: USER EXPERIENCE
Branding Adjectives
With our client, we created this document to understand the visual direction we would move towards with Canopy. They helped us identify adjectives of what Canopy is and what they are not.
Low Fidelity
After sketching, we moved into Figma with a clear vision of how the product would flow. These mocks show the process of adding a dependent’s financials to your account, viewing the dependent’s financial activity, and adding other family members to the dependent’s Canopy profile.
Branding Guidelines
After defining the brand, we created guidelines to utilize throughout the app.
High Fidelity
Branding guidelines helped when implementing visual design elements. These screens walk the user through their onboarding process.
