Simplifying report creation for data analysts
OVERVIEW —
The client sought a solution to simplify report creation for data analysts. The challenge was to design a platform that would allow them to focus solely on the data, without the distraction of varying design elements. This product enables users to easily create reports, upload analyses and data visualizations, and share them with both internal and external teams. The goal was to streamline the process and empower analysts to focus on insights, not design complexity.
PHASE ONE: IDEATE
Findings from key stakeholder interviews and conducted research on existing team issues were gathered to better understand pain points and objectives. This helped synthesize findings into actionable insights to create the personas.
Personas
User Flows
After creating personas, I created use cases for the scenarios Sandy would run into when she has a question for John. This outlined outlining the steps she would take to resolve her issue and the potential obstacles she might face along the way.
PHASE TWO: DESIGN
Wireflows
After solidifying the personas and user flows, I created wireflows to to visually understanding of John’s process when creating a report. The user flow and wireflow created a concrete understanding of the journey before moving into Figma to create the low fidelity screens with detail.
Low Fidelity
We moved from pen and paper into Figma, solidifying the flows for Data Analysts creating a report and co-workers submitting questions to them.
High Fidelity
After creating branding guidelines with the client, high fidelity mocks were created to bring the sign-up process to life.
